TAFE NSW Connected Learning Centre delivers world-class training in Byron Bay

The NSW Government's new state-of-the-art TAFE NSW Connected Learning Centre is boosting training in Byron Bay, as local students take advantage of a range of new courses available this year.

Minister for Skills, TAFE and Tertiary Education, Steve Whan said the new facility, which opened last year, is offering courses aligned to high-growth industries such as retail, tourism, hospitality, construction, and screen and media.

"The new TAFE NSW Connected Learning Centre is providing locals with access to over 45 courses this Semester, including over 30 new courses being offered for the first time such as qualifications in Building and Construction, Retails, and Tourism," Mr Whan said.

"As the first-ever TAFE NSW presence in Byron Bay, the Connected Learning Centre is providing a much-needed boost to training opportunities for local students and providing employers with a pipeline of skilled graduates."

"Students can enrol in courses ranging from Statements of Attainment through Diplomas - kickstarting their careers in high growth industries."

Mr Whan said the Connected Learning Centre in Byron Bay demonstrates the NSW Government's commitment to fostering a skilled workforce and meeting industry needs. 

"The courses on offer have been determined in consultation with industry to equip students with the skills, confidence, and employer connections they need to set themselves up for success."

"I'm pleased to see the Connected Learning Centre in Byron Bay is expanding its offerings for regional students and delivering the right skills to support the local community." Mr Whan said.

The Connected Learning Centre delivers blended, facilitated, and online learning - backed up by Mobile Training Units which provide the practical training TAFE NSW is known for. 

TAFE NSW has a fleet of 91 Mobile Training Units that are designed to support simulated practical training at Connected Learning Centres. Mobile Training Units ensure learners gain the practical skills they need for their chosen industry, whether that's working at heights on a construction site or working as a barista in a cafe.
