TAFE NSW Opens Training Facilities in Jindabyne
Skills training in Jindabyne will receive an unprecedented boost with a suite of in-demand courses set to be locally available through the new TAFE NSW Connected Learning Centre.
Member for Monaro, Steve Whan, said the new facility will provide locals with the training they need to fill jobs in Snowy Monaro’s critical industries, such as healthcare, hospitality, and community services.
“Initially the new $6.5 million TAFE NSW facility will offer 13 industry-aligned courses when it opens its doors in October, with more courses available at the start of next year,” Steve Whan said.
“Shortage of workers has been the constant I have heard from Jindabyne and the region since I came back in as Member for Monaro.
“This new facility is fantastic, and the vital thing is that it is more than just a building, because Labor is committed to making sure we have TAFE teachers and courses - not just nice buildings”.
Minister for Skills, TAFE and Tertiary Education, Prue Car said TAFE NSW courses will equip graduates with the skills, knowledge, and employer connections needed to support the local and regional economy.
“We know that local employers are crying out for locally skilled workers. The NSW Government will continue to provide local businesses with the pipeline of talent they need through locally-relevant training programs.”
The Connected Learning Centre will deliver blended, facilitated, and online learning – backed up by Mobile Training Units which will provide the practical training TAFE NSW is known for.
The first new courses to be offered will commence in Term 4, 2023 and are now open for enrolments or enquiries via www.tafensw.edu.au.
